Appointment of Ms. Geetika Jhakhar as DSP in Haryana Police

Ms. Geetika Jhakhar, whose date of birth is 18th August 1985 is graduate from Kurukshetra University. She has played a number of National and International Wrestling Championship for India. Her achievements in the field of sports are as under:-

She Won Silver Medal in XVth Asian Games held at Doha (Qatar) December, 2006.
Won two Gold Medals in Commonwealth Wrestling Championship. First in Canada in the year 2003 and second in South Africa in the year 2005. She was declared of Commonwealth Championship.
Won two Silver Medals in Senior Asian Wrestling Championship. First in New Delhi in the year 2003 and then in China in the year 2005.
Won Gold Medal in Asian Junior Wrestling Championship held at Kazakhstan in the year 2004.
Won Silver Medal in World Junior Championship held at Lithuania in the year 2005.
Won Gold Medal in International Cadet Tournament at Turkey in the year 2002.
Won Gold Medal in All Senior National Championship from 2001 to 2007.
Won Gold Medal in three National Games- In Punjab in the year 2001, at Hyderabad in the year 2002 and at Guwahati in the year 2007.
In the year 2005-06 she participated in 18th Senior Asian Female Wrestling Championship held at Wohan (China) and won Silver Medal.
She has won Gold Medal in the National Wrestling Championships in the year 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
She is winner of 5 times "Bharat Kesari Award". Besides, she was declared "Best Wrestler of India" 5 times.
She is the "First Arjuna Awardee Woman Wrestler" in the country. In view of her outstanding performance, Haryana State conferred on her the prestigious "Bhim Award" in the year 2003.

In view of above, the State Government has appointed Ms. Geetika Jhakhar as P/DSP vide memo No. 2/7/2008-IHGI dated 09.07.2008. She has joined on 15.07.2008.
